Hiring: General Manager – Building Compliance Services

JOT Energy Consultancy is a respected provider of building compliance and sustainability services in the South East.

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a General Manager who brings both technical expertise and strong leadership skills to guide our team and shape the next phase of development.

This is a senior management role in Waterford City with genuine influence over operational strategy, company culture and future growth.

 

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Compliance
  • Oversee delivery of BERs, Technical Advisor Reports, Airtightness, Sound & Ventilation Testing
  • Manage scheduling, job allocation and resource planning
  • Ensure full compliance with SEAI, NSAI and Irish Building Regulations

 

Leadership & Development
  • Lead, mentor and support technical staff
  • Oversee training, certification and ongoing professional development

 

Business & Client Relations
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, builders, consultants and regulatory bodies
  • Prepare pricing, quotes, tenders and support profitability
  • Identify new opportunities and lead business development initiatives

 

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in BER assessments, air testing or similar compliance field
  • Proven experience managing people, operations and customer relationships
  • SEAI-registered BER Assessor (Domestic required; non-domestic a strong advantage)
  • NSAI Airtightness and/or Sound Testing qualification preferred
  • Strong understanding of TGD Parts L, F and E of Irish Building Regulations
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Commercially minded with strong attention to detail
  • Full clean driving license

Desirable

  • Background in construction or building performance
  • Experience running a small business or technical team
  • Familiarity with CRM systems or workflow management tools
  • Financial and commercial awareness
