Hiring: Non-Domestic BER Assessor

We are seeking an experienced Non Domestic BER Assessor to join our team and lead the execution of large-scale commercial energy efficiency studies while overseeing the auditing process.

 

Job Description

This technical role demands expertise in building services, 3D dynamic simulation modelling and energy efficiency within commercial buildings.

Key responsibilities include conducting comprehensive energy studies, Energy Upgrade Road Maps, collaborating with clients to design projects tailored to their timelines and budgets, and coordinating grant funding.

The position requires regular travel to various sites for conducting surveys and energy audits. Candidates must be based in Ireland and hold a full driver’s license.

 

Responsibilities
  • Completion of BER assessments Commercial buildings in line with the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland Code of Practice for Building Energy Rating (BER) Assessors.
  • Energy audits and feasibility studies.
  • Attend site visits to understand the existing building services and liaise with sub-contractors during tender stage.
  • Develop detailed energy upgrade reports and track changes on a regular basis. Ensure project is in line with timelines and energy targets.
  • Develop robust financial justifications for proposed energy efficiency projects and present project proposals to clients.
  • Preparing sustainability strategies for clients aligning with technical reports.
  • Engage directly with clients in meetings and manage crucial stakeholder relationships.

 

Required Skills & Experience
  • Level 8 degree in Energy, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering with minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in building services, Measurement & Verification (M&V), or energy efficiency.
  • Ideally certified as a Non-Domestic Building Assessor – SEAI with a proven track record in Renewable Energy Systems, Energy Management and Energy Audits.
  • Experience in site works including auditing and identifying energy saving opportunities with good technical knowledge of building energy systems.
  • Working Knowledge of 3D dynamic simulation software’s such as Design Builder or IESVE.
  • An understanding of daylighting and overheating simulations in commercial building.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and adept client management skills.
  • Proactive, self-driven, and capable of working autonomously with strong initiative.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, proficient in Office 365 tools and AutoCad.
  • Strong report writing skills while being familiar with the preparation of tender documentation and associated administration.
  • Full Irish / EU Driving License
